A Simple Daily Skincare Routine: What to Use Morning & Night
A good skincare routine does not need to be complicated. The most effective routine is one you can follow consistently, with products selected for your skin type and concerns.
At Dr. M SKINICAL, we favour a simple approach: cleanse, apply targeted treatments, moisturise when needed and protect the skin from the sun during the day.
Morning skincare routine
1. Cleanse
Start with a gentle cleanser to remove overnight oil, perspiration and residue without leaving the skin feeling stripped.
2. Apply a targeted serum
This is where you can tailor your routine to your main concern. For dull or uneven-looking skin, Vitamin C Glow Elixir provides THD Ascorbate with lycopene and turmeric for antioxidant care and brighter-looking skin. For oily or combination skin, Skinical Balance Serum combines 10% niacinamide, Zinc PCA and Oiless’city to help manage the appearance of excess shine while maintaining hydration.
3. Moisturise
Follow with a moisturiser if your skin needs additional hydration. Choose a texture appropriate for your skin type rather than assuming every skin type needs a rich cream.
4. Sunscreen
Finish your morning routine with broad-spectrum sunscreen. Sunscreen is particularly important when your goal is to maintain an even-looking complexion and minimise the visible effects associated with sun exposure.
Evening skincare routine
1. Cleanse thoroughly
Remove sunscreen, makeup and the day's build-up before applying treatment products.
2. Use your treatment serum
Evening is an ideal time for targeted skincare. StemCellé Copper GHK-Cu Serum is designed for skin concerned with visible signs of ageing, including fine lines, loss of firmness and uneven texture. Copper Tripeptide-1 is combined with ectoin and sodium hyaluronate to support hydrated, resilient and smoother-looking skin.
3. Add a facial oil when needed
For dry, dehydrated or dull-looking skin, Sea Buckthorn Serum can be used after water-based products. Its blend of sea buckthorn seed, cacay, prickly pear and jojoba oils helps replenish and condition the skin.
4. Moisturise
Finish with moisturiser where additional hydration or occlusion is needed.
How to layer water-based serums and facial oils
A practical rule is to apply lighter, water-based products before richer oil-based products. For example, Skinical Balance Serum or StemCellé Copper GHK-Cu Serum would generally be applied before Sea Buckthorn Serum or Vitamin C Glow Elixir.
Allow each layer to settle comfortably rather than applying large amounts of several products at once.
Do you need every active ingredient every day?
No. More products do not automatically create a better routine. Choose treatments according to your main concerns and introduce new products gradually. A simple, consistent routine also makes it easier to understand how your skin responds to individual formulas.
